Skater Bio: Roller Derby started to creep it's way into my life in 2014, After seeing photos on Facebook, the movie Whip It, and a poster in my local Sainsburys, etc I eventually followed the trail of derby breadcrumbs and contacted my local team at the time, Hull's Angels. I went to my first beginner session in January 2015 and instantly became obsessed. I joined the Minxters when I moved to York in January 2017.
I was basically allergic to sport in school, now I'm a regular at the gym. Getting into roller derby has been the best decision I have ever made, I'm fitter, stronger, and more confident, I've achieved things I would have never thought possible, and I've gained the best sweaty family I could hope for!
Favourite Position: Jammer, although I've been working on becoming a better blocker since moving to the Minxters
Worst Injury: I had the most extra reaction to an ankle sprain you have ever seen
Proudest Derby Moment: I passed my laps on a floor the texture of suede, I'm pretty proud of that, however, my biggest moment was the first time I ever jammed in a proper bout. I had been close to giving up Derby a few months prior: I thought I was rubbish and would never get any better. I ended up having a great game and realising that hard work and perseverance would get results in the end.
Started Skating: January 2015, hence my number: 115
Song To Skate To: Rasputin by Boney M
Alter Ego: By day I work in the finance department if the NHS (yawn). I'm a grade A comic book nerd, a vegan, occasional artist, as well as mum to the best cat you've ever seen
